I found this pillow at the BitchinStitchin booth at the Rust Belt Market in Ferndale and had to buy it for a friend going through a hard time. I wish I'd taken more pictures in Cathy's booth, but you can see her work on her Instagram.
I especially love that the flower is silk ribbon embroidery, a technique that has been around since the 1700s and was very popular in the 1920s. The beautiful ribbon and the daintiness of the embroidery are antithetical to the harshness of the word fuck.
And I love that the last time I visited my friend, she had the pillow displayed in the guest room.
